Guy DeVore Obituary

Guy C. DeVore, 93, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Aspinwall, passed peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. He was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Monongahela, to the late Henry C. and Millie Joanna (Blythe) DeVore. Guy worked for PPG Industries, Pittsburgh, for more than 35 years as a professional engineer, where his research accounted for many significant glass production patents. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. Guy enjoyed being a private pilot and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Mae S. (Stewart) DeVore; sons, Jeffrey S. (Marj) DeVore, Patrick B. (Suzie) DeVore and Alan J. (Shelli) DeVore; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Guy C. DeVore Jr.; sister, Lois A. Mitchell; and brothers, Henry B. DeVore, Lloyd T. DeVore and James R. DeVore. In keeping with Guy's request all viewing and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. Memorial contributions may be sent to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation "Team 3-D", and donations can be mailed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, PO Box 5004, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5004.
