Richard Helgerman Obituary

Richard L. Helgerman, 74, of Ambridge, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Born March 1, 1938, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Theodore and Ehma (Schillinger) Helgerman. He was a true outdoorsman and sportsman who loved fishing, hunting, boating and riding his Harley motorcycle. In addition, he enjoyed landscaping and working with his prized plants. Richard also enjoyed coaching softball, but above all, his faith was extremely important to him and he truly enjoyed sharing it with others and gathering in fellowship. He is survived by his five children, Wendy Helgerman, of Pittsburgh, Mark Helgerman and his wife, Patti, of Harmony, Todd Helgerman and his wife, Alisa, of Pittsburgh, Rick Helgerman and his wife, Mandee, of San Antonio, Texas, and Kate Coel, of Plum; and 11 grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Emily, Kristen, Joshua, Sean, Ashley, Brandon, Michael, Cheyenne and Dixie. A memorial service with military honors will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
