A. Robert "Bob" Thomas, 86, of Norvelt, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at home. He was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Greensburg, to the late William Sylvester Thomas Jr. and Jane Lucille (Branthoover) Thomas. He served in the Navy from 1953-57. He was a motorcycle dealer for 40 years, having owned Cycle Sports & Service in Norvelt, and Bob Thomas Honda/Kawasaki of Irwin. Bob was a member of the NRA, Safari Club International of Pittsburgh, Ft. Allen Antique Tractor Club and Whizzer Motorbike Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Brown. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Weightman) Thomas; four children, Linda Thomas, Ruth Zwierzynski (Steven), Robert Thomas (Pamela) and Eric Thomas; six grandchildren, Eric Zwierzynski (Sharon), Paula Bomhof (Jeff), Nathan Zwierzynski, Rachel Klinsky (Michael), Shauna Thomas and Gina Kisiel (Ben); and eight great-grandchildren, Keene, J.T., Ellie, Louis, Claire, Ember, Leighton and Ira. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, with Pastor David L. Greer officiating. Interment will be private.
