Annie Branthoover

Annie "Little Gram" (Blank) Branthoover, 94, of Penn Township, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016. She was born and raised on the family farm in Claridge, to the late Frank S. and Catherine Gongaware Blank. Annie was the oldest member of Denmark Manor United Church of Christ, as well as a lifetime member of the Women's Fellowship there. She also taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. In her earlier years, she belonged to Women's Homemakers of Harrison City, as well as owned a beauty salon in Trafford with her late sister, Grace. She was a hard worker who also worked at Murray House in Murrysville. She loved to bake, garden, read, do crossword puzzles and quilt. Her coconut cream pies, angel food cake, piccalilli and jellies were her best. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Branthoover; grandson, Samuel J. Walk; brothers, Jake, Carl and John Blank; and sisters, Catherine Gongaware and Grace Long. Annie is survived by her loving daughters, Janice (John) Migyanka, of Latrobe, and Doris (Dan) Walk, of Penn Township; grandchildren, Amy Migyanka, Dr. Nathan (Dr. Ellen Edens) Walk, Nicole (Rick) Zavatsky and Andrew Walk; great-grandchildren, Derrick and Zach Zavatsky, Noah Ankeny, Joseph Bleehash, Emma Zavatsky and Annie, Thomas, Felix and Natalie Walk; a special sister, Dorothy McIlvaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Denmark Manor United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Meredith Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Denmark Manor.
