Arnold Yanosky Obituary

Arnold T. Yanosky, 88, of Yukon, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Mt. View Senior Living, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Greensburg, son of the late Frank E. and Anna (Liptak) Yanosky. Arnold was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School, Class of 1951. During high school, he was on the baseball team, then after graduation, Arnold continued playing baseball in a men's league. He was an active 50-plus year member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Yukon. He was also a member of a pigeon club where he raised and raced homing pigeons. Arnold worked for and retired from PPG Industries as a carpenter building pallets. Previous to retirement, he drove a milk truck for many years. In his younger years, he raised chickens, horses, goats, cows and dogs on the family farm. He taught his children the compassion he had for animals. He had a large garden and was known to share his braided garlic and tomatoes with everyone. Arnold enjoyed hunting with his dog, Pebbles, archery and rifle hunting, and ice fishing. He enjoyed attending polka festivals and polka dancing with his wife. He is preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Frank Yanosky Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lorraine (Paden) Yanosky; two daughters, Deborah A. Theis and husband, Bob, of Mt. Pleasant, and Kim J. Bruno and husband, John, of Yukon; two grandchildren, Jarred Bruno and wife, Laura, and Hannah Bruno-Morrone and husband, Matt; and one brother, Donald R. "Donny" Yanosky and wife, Janice, of Yukon. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery, Greensburg, with Father Vincent Yee-Concepcion officiating. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Arnold's memory to Redstone at Home Hospice, 6 Garden Center Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601. The family wants to thank Redstone at Home Hospice for their loving and compassionate care provided to their father. A special thanks to Lisa and Emily for their undivided attention given to Arnold. Glenn and I join family and friends in mourning the loss of Cousin Arnold. I always remember him being very kind and loving to me. One of our best memories is from our wedding in 1982. Even after all these years we laugh about Arnold and Butch lifting me off the floor and swirling me around during the bridal dance! Our prayers for the comfort and peace of Christ to be upon you all.
