Audrey Gray Obituary

Audrey M. (Dripps) Gray, 89, of Salem Township, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. Audrey was born in Wyoming, a daughter of Enda (Manning) Sellhorn and Lawrence H. Hansen. Audrey was the beloved wife and best friend of Richard E. Gray for 47 years; loving mother of Raymond 'Butch' (Patti) Dripps, of Mansfield, Wendy (James) Sherer, of Crafton, Diane (late Tom) Sullivan, of Mansfield, and the late Dana Dripps. Most precious and loving grandmother of Meghan Kowalski, of Irwin, Stephen Kowalski, of Export, Ben Sullivan, of Mansfield, Russell Dripps, of North Carolina, the late Raymond Dripps IV and the late Joshua Sullivan; proud great-grandmother of Maddox Oskey, of Irwin; and sister of Christy (Woody) Bain and Karen (Dave) Bain, both of Wyoming. Audrey is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Barney. Her philanthropic kindness benefited many. Audrey began her work career in Pittsburgh with GAI Consultants, Monroeville, where she met her future husband, Dick. In 1967, she became employed with Pittsburgh Corning, from where she later retired. Audrey was a member of Order of the Amaranth of Eastern Star, Corinthian Court No. 35 in Pittsburgh. Throughout her life she exemplified Amaranth's core principals, truth, faith, wisdom and charity. Over the years, Audrey and Dick were able to explore 47 different countries on personal and professional trips. She was an avid reader willing to lend the latest books to anybody who wanted to read them. She also enjoyed gardening, skiing, and solving crossword puzzles in pen. Loved hiking with her children and grandchildren especially the West Virginia Wildflower Pilgrimage for over 30 years and being a caring and loving dog owner/rescuer for all of her life. Audrey also appreciated any chance to socialize with family and friends. There was always room at her table. In fact, wherever she went she touched the hearts of people with her pleasant, considerate and kind personality. Friends are welcome to a Memorial Service and Commemoration of her life, followed by a reception, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Jaden's catering, 4727 William Penn Hwy., Monroeville, PA 15146.
