Barbara A. O'Palenick

Barbara Ann (Reeves) O'Palenick, 89, of Murrysville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. O'Palenick; mother of Valerie O'Palenick; grandmother of Zachery O'Palenick and Jason (Lacey) Miller; great-grandmother of Logan Brown, Tristan Miller and London Miller; and sister of the late Jean Flaherty. Barbara graduated from Indiana State Teachers College, and worked for more than 40 years at Sunrise School as a special education teacher where she also coordinated activities and events for the students. As the wife of a Syria Shriner and Master Mason, Barbara was very active in the Masonic Lodge No. 799, Plum Creek/Monroeville. In recent years, she served as the president of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She thoroughly enjoyed and spent a lot of time traveling the world with her husband.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until funeral at 4 p.m. Monday at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road at Universal Road, Penn Hills. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graham Cemetery, Franklin, Pa.
