Barry Rowan Obituary

Barry L. Rowan, 76, of Penn, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Greensburg, a son of the late Kermit and Thelma (Bailing) Rowan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Emerick. Barry worked as a mould polisher at Overmile Mould and served in the Army. He loved high school and Steelers football as well as sharing stories with family, friends and anyone who would listen. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra (Hill) Rowan, of Penn; daughters, Chevelle Douty, of Greensburg, and Tina Rowan, of Irwin; sister, Debbie Rutan and husband, Dennis, of Penn; brother, Randy Rowan and Fran, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Autumn, Lauren, Audi and Caprice; and great-grandchildren, Caiden, Savannah and Arabella; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10, in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor John Ciampa. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
