Bonita Clawson Obituary

Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, Bonita 'Bonnie' Louise Clawson, 74, of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Independence Health System - Latrobe Hospital from cancer complications. She was surrounded by several family members and friends. Bonnie was born in Latrobe on Aug. 1, 1950, to the late Chester H. and Nellie A. (Clark) Clawson. She spent most of her life in the Latrobe area, but she also lived in West Haven, CT, for many years. Bonnie's family meant everything to her. She was devastated when many of them passed away before her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley, Carol, and Judy; two brothers, Harry and John; two nephews, Wesley and Keith; and a niece, Lynne. Bonnie is survived by her son, Bryon R. Clawson, and his wife, Ingrid of Trumbull, CT; three grandchildren, Nicole and Tyler Clawson, all of Trumbull, CT, and Ronnie Pompa; two nieces, Wendy and Lori; and five nephews, Larry, Benn, Greg, Matt, and Adam. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Losier officiating. A private interment with her parents will be in Blairsville Cemetery. My heartfelt condolences to Bryon and all of Bonnie's family and friends.

I was fortunate to meet and work with Bonnie during her time in CT.

Bonnie was known for her commitment to work, family and friends.

Bryon and family were truly the most important people in her life.

Bonnie was known for her honest and hardworking approach to each new position that she took on, never reluctant to roll up her sleaves and work extra hours to get the job done and support her co-workers.

We shared many conversations about her drive 'home', it wasn't a short one, however she truly looked forward to seeing family and friends as much as possible.

Bonnie put many miles on the highway during the visits, long before cell phones were part of our daily life. She was a brave and resilient soul, which we admired.

In closing, my prayers go forward with Bonnie, that she may be at peace and in eternal rest with her family and loved one's, all that she missed so very-very much.

May Bryon along with all of Bonnie's family/friends know that Bonnie made a difference for so many co-workers through her compassionate, caring and yes, and laughter.

Rest in peace my friend, you've blessed many lives.
