Carol A. Kocsis Chase, 65, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in UPMC Montefiore, Oakland. She was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Wall, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Walko Kocsis. Carol was employed by Giant Eagle in North Huntingdon. She was a member of Penns Woods United Methodist Church of North Huntingdon. She was a Democratic committeeperson for Ward 7 in North Huntingdon Township, a member of the North Huntingdon Township Democratic Club and a member of United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 23. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Kocsis. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Ralph Chase; two sons, Jeff Chase, of North Huntingdon, and Greg Chase and his wife, Michelle, of North Irwin; four grandchildren, Brandon Chase, Joshua Helfmann, Tiffany and Austin Chase; brothers and sisters, Sharon (Gerald) Baur, of East McKeesport, Dennis (Karen) Kocsis, of North Versailles, Gary (Rosanne) Kocsis, of Wall, Lynn (Tom) Goodnack, of Turtle Creek, and Lori (Dale) Frye, of McKeesport; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Nathan Carlson, her pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
