Catherine A. Teaters

1949 - 2023

Catherine A. Teaters, 74, of Ruffsdale, passed away peacefully Monday evening, Oct. 9, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 23, 1949, in Carnegie, the daughter of Florence McGervey Morris, of West Newton, and the late Albert Burdette Morris. Catherine was a member of the former St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, Smithton. She was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School, Class of 1967. Catherine was employed by Sheetz for more than 20 years in sales. Previously, she was employed by the former Twin Coaches and Big Boy in Greensburg, as a manager. Catherine enjoyed life to the fullest, even calling herself the "Adrenaline Junkie." She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, crafts and shopping, where she always got the best deal with her coupons! She was an avid Steelers fan for many years. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. Catherine is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. In addition to her mother, Florence McGervey, of West Newton, Catherine is survived by her husband of 54 years, James R. Teaters Sr., of Ruffsdale, whom she married Feb. 14, 1969; her sons, James R. Teaters Jr., of Ruffsdale, and Scott A. Teaters and wife, Jennifer, of West Newton; her granddaughter, Mercedes Teaters and her children; her siblings, Janet Beckinger and husband, Warren, of Pulaski, Pa., Albert C. Morris, of Smithton, Patricia Gebhart and husband, John, of New Castle, John Morris and wife, Donna, of Jacobs Creek, Glenn Morris, of Butler, Judy Leska and husband, Paul, of Jacobs Creek, and Phil Morris and wife, Carrie, of Belle Vernon. In addition to her father, Catherine was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael Morris and Susan Fisher. With careful thought and consideration in accordance with Catherine's wishes, all services will be private.
