Charles Stevick Obituary

Charles Earl "Chuck" Stevick Jr., 76, of Delmont, Westmoreland County, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Pennsylvania VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh. He was born June 21, 1949, in Greensburg, the son of the late Charles Earl and Stella (Wisniewski) Stevick Shray. Chuck lived most of his life in and around Delmont, Westmoreland County, but worked for a number of years in the Houston, TX area before returning to his family hometown in 1995. Chuck was a gifted writer and dedicated journalist who worked tirelessly to bring readers truthful information, often with his trademark wit and humor. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a proud Panther; he wrote for daily newspapers, including the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and the Texas City Sun in Texas City, TX. In his later years, Chuck focused on several in-depth writing projects, including a humorous reflection on his years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also corresponded regularly with numerous friends around the country and was never far from his collection of trusty computers, word processors, and beloved books. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Gary A. Stevick of New Alexandria. Chuck will be sadly missed by his brother, Richard Stevick of Irwin; sister-in-law, Carolyn "Sis" (Eddy) Broome, of New Alexandria; nephew, Clayton Stevick of New Alexandria; and numerous other relatives and friends. Respecting the family's wishes, arrangements are private. VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724-468-1177), has been entrusted with the arrangements.
