Cheryl A. Converso

1959 - 2021

Cheryl Ann (Cole) Converso, 61, of West Newton, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Jeannette, the daughter of the late Edward and Shirley L. (Davis) Cole. After high school, Cheryl worked for over 20 years at Sony in New Stanton, building television circuit boards. She then went on to work as a waitress at The Palace in Herminie and also Cracker Barrel in New Stanton, serving many locals with her big smile and warm personality. In her younger years, Cheryl enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and traveling with her children. Her family would often go camping to many locations including Shenango, Yough Damn, Raystown and Pymatuming, changing from tent camping to RV camping through the years. Cheryl was a very outgoing, bubbly and loving woman. She always had a smile on her face and she loved her children and grandchildren whole heartedly. She loved to landscape and work in her garden and had a green thumb. She enjoyed collecting green glass, decorating her home with everything country and keeping a clean and organized household. She loved to listen to music and attended several concerts with friends. Cheryl and her husband lived life to the fullest after retirement; panning for gold in Arizona, searching for geodes, visiting every National Park west of the Missouri and Canada and camping for extended periods of time throughout the year. She was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Charles and Ed Cole. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dennis Converso Sr.; one son, Dennis Converso and wife, Desarae, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Jennifer Converso, of Yukon; two grandchildren, Makaylah Watkins and Brandon Toth; one brother, James Cole, of Ohio, and one furbaby, Smokey Converso. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at the BEATTY-RICH FUENRAL HOME INC., Route 136 Madison, PA, Ronald A. Rich Jr., supervisor/funeral director. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. with Kealey Smartnick as celebrant. Interment will follow at the West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
