I was saddened today after receiving information from my cousin in Georgia that reported my cousin, Danny Lumpkin, had suddenly passed away at his home in Pennsylvania. I had met Danny many years ago at my grandparents' home in Ashburn, GA (Momma and Poppa Lumpkin's). Our only contact was through our parents and grandparents due to living many miles apart, Florida to Pennsylvania. As a young child, I found Danny to be a humorous, challenging person that had a gift to communicate with everyone that always ended in laughter. I recall one of our visits, as young kids, he wanted a soda pop (Coke) and he talked my brother and I to walk to a local gas station close to my grandparent's house in Ashburn GA. We thought Danny had money to purchase the cokes but instead he talked the attendant into giving us each a free sample "soda pop" as he called them. I believe back then, Danny had actually gotten us a free Nehi-drink. I had later talked to him at a family reunion in Sylvester, GA but he had grown quieter. Later, 2015, when my Mom was still alive, Mom Christine Lumpkin, my Sister Linda Norris, visited Danny, Darla and their family on a Family visit to Pennsylvania. I recall uncle Junior, and Aunt Carolyn, Dannys Parents, his sisters and brother, Cousins Karen, Darla and Chris. Their entire family was always nice to me in many different ways, sharing meals, soda pops, country food and fresh Georgia fruits peaches and melons. These are my fond memories of my cousins that I will always cherish. Sorry for the Family loss and condolences to his close family and many friends. Thanks for listening, Cousin Tommy and Cheryl Lumpkin, Jacksonville, Florida
