David J. Sonita

1959 - 2016

David J. Sonita, 56, of Scottdale, died unexpectedly Monday, May 23, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Hospital. Presently, he was employed as a CNC machinist for Kennametal, Irwin. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife and best friend of 28 years, Christine C. Smith Sonita, whom he married Oct. 2, 1988; his three loving sons, Anthony Charles Sonita, of Scottdale, Daniel J. Sonita, of Pittsburgh, and Andrew J. Sonita, of Pleasant Unity; and his siblings, Patricia Corr and husband, Patrick, of North Hills, Pittsburgh, Charles Sonita and wife, Norma, of Monroeville, Theresa Godliewski and husband, David, of Harrisburg.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, at which time prayers of transfer will be recited, followed by his memorial Mass at 1 p.m. in the partner parish of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, with his pastor, the Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, as celebrant.
