He is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 46 years; children, Joyce (Speck) Freese, of Florida, Linda (Speck) Rheling, of Virginia, and David Speck II, of Washington D.C.; and stepchildren, William C. (Jennifer) Lersch, of Altoona, Mark J. (Carrie) Lersch, of Harrisburg, and Heather A. (Blaise) Lersch (Guzewicz), of North Huntingdon. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Murrysville, Class of 1951, and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and diplomas in electronic theory from Allegheny Technical Institute of Pittsburgh and DeVry Technical Institute of Illinois.
