Donald E. Krinock

1940 - 2024

Donald E. 'Sparky' Krinock, 83, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at his home. Born July 22, 1940, in Latrobe and raised in Snydertown, he was a son of the late John J. Krinock and Katherine (Mickinak) Krinock. Donald was retired from Latrobe Die Casting and had been the owner and operator of 'The Shamrock' in Derry. He was a 1959 graduate of Derry Area Senior High School and had been a lifeguard at Ligonier Beach. Donald enjoyed tennis and also weightlifting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Krinock, and an infant brother, John Krinock. Donald is survived by one son, John Krinock (Beth) of North Canton, OH; four grandchildren, who he adored, Evan Krinock, Shane Krinock, Charlie Krinock, and Haley Krinock; one brother, Edward N. Krinock (Nancy Castellie) of Bradenville; a brother-in-law, Mark Kuhns of Derry; and his beloved dog, Sam. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Athanasius Cherry, O.S.B., officiating.
