Doris Forsyth Obituary

Doris R. Forsyth, 94, of Irwin, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at home. She was born Feb. 24, 1928, in East McKeesport, a daughter of the late Dr. John Leffler Ridinger and Edith Pearl (Gillis) Ridinger, and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Ann "Becky" Forsyth; and siblings, Thelma Leffler, Dr. William T. "Doc" Ridinger and Dr. John Ridinger. Doris was a charter member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church. Doris enjoyed walking and was a member of a senior fitness class. She always had flowers planted around her house and was known for her love of crossword puzzles. She loved to dance and enjoyed singing along to her favorite songs and hymns. As a grandmother, she loved interacting with her grandchildren, Jennifer, Hannah, Bailey, Cara, Cally and Corey, and her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sons, Richard A. Forsyth, of Irwin, and Ronald A. (Cheryl) Forsyth, of Lancaster, Pa. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, 8 West Hempfield Drive, Irwin, with the Rev. Andrew Wirt officiating. The WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Irwin, 724-863-1200, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to West Hempfield Presbyterian Church.
