Doris Louise (Cunningham) Smith, 85, of Everson (Upper Tyrone Township), passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at her residence. Doris was born on May 5, 1940, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Harry Brown Jr. "H.B." and Eva Mae (Shallenberger) Cunningham. She was married to Arthur F. "Yuckie" Smith, who passed away on July 30, 2023. Doris is survived by her loving family; her five daughters, Karen (Russell) Christner, Anita Smith, and Alexis Prinkey, all of Everson, Deanna (Clair) McFadden of Pennsville, and Deidre Cyphert of Scottdale; her son, Derek (Sue Grantz) Smith of Mt. Pleasant; her 16 grandchildren, Eric Christner, Stacey Christner (Shane Radacovich), Randy (Tess) Christner, April (Brian) Rowan, Patrick Smith, Zach Smith, Jeremiah (Amy) DeShetler, Rosanna Bucco, Caleb McFadden (Erin Colgan), Seth McFadden, Alesia McFadden, Carissa Cyphert (Dru Miller), Lindsey (Cody) Hardsock, Madison Cyphert (Jerry Gales), Jacob Prinkey (Isabella Hixson), and Anthony Calabrace; her 10 great-grandchildren, Chase and Cody Christner, Kayden Hernley, and Navy Christner, Brian and Steven Rowan, Ethan and Caitlin DeShetler, Aiden McFadden, and Oliva Stearns; her sisters, Anna Mary Yoder and Nelda Matheny both of Scottdale; and her brothers, Roy B. (Gush) Cunningham of Mt. Pleasant and Charles Cunningham of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was known for making her lady locks, she loved red birds and watching her old westerns, but most important to her was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. Her children would like to thank our sister, Anita, for her loving care and being our mother's caregiver during her illness. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael F. Smith (Jan. 2, 2022); her great-grandson, Dodge Aaron Christner (July 20, 2023); her maternal grandparents, Byron and Margaret Marie (Layton) Shallenberger; and her paternal grandparents, Harry B.
