Edison Mullen Obituary

Edison Thomas Mullen, 88, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in The Uniontown Hospital. Born Feb. 17, 1916, in Brownfield Airshaft, he was a son of the late Peter and Karrie Richter Mullen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gladys Gordon Mullen, on Dec. 2, 1995, and brothers and sisters, Catherine Cain, Lena Fletcher, Donald Mullen, James Mullen, Joseph Mullen and Mary Belle Mullen. Edison was a member of the United Mine Workers, working for over 47 years in various mines, retiring from U.S. Steel. He is survived by his loving children, Gloria J. Mullen Rosso and husband, Edward, of Uniontown, and Thomas G. Mullen, of Uniontown; grandchildren, David Rosso and wife, Christy, and Anita Filcheck and husband, Edward; four great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Cassie Filcheck and Anna and Katy Rosso; brothers and sisters, Sarah Peterson and husband, Herbert, of Smithton, Mildred Shultz, of Butler, Viola Shaw, of Bolivar, N.Y., and Raymond Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 10 a.m., when a blessing service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Father William J. Kiel officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
