Edward G. Byers

1931 - 2025

Edward G. Byers, 94, of Derry, passed away March 4, 2025, at IHS Latrobe. He was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Derry, a son of the late Joseph and Irene Stemmler Byers. Ed was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Derry and had retired after 28 years from Newcomer Products. Ed was known for his great sense of humor and always had a real-life story to tell. For many years, he and his son, Pat, painted together. Many of Ed's enjoyments came from going to camp in Marienville, trout fishing, and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Henderson Byers; his brothers, Joseph S. and James C. Byers; a grandson, Trey Skiff; and a son-in-law, Stephen J. Cinibulk. He is survived by his children, Janet Skiff (Rod) of Spartansburg, Patrick E. Byers (JoAnne) of Derry, Donna Cinibulk (Denny) of Loyalhanna, and Michael A. Byers (Heidi) of Hillside; grandchildren, Allison Skiff, Hailey and Cassie Byers, Lori Tedesco (Travis), Timothy Martin (Laura), and Arthur Martin Jr. (Sue); great-grandchildren, Zia Tedesco, Kyle, Kellie Jo, and Ryleigh Martin; special nephew, Wayne Henderson (Dale) of Boise, Idaho; special friend, Dave Gregory of McKees Rocks; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where a service will be conducted Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., with his pastor the Rev.
