Ella Ribble Obituary

Ella Steck DelGross Brown Ribble, 76, of Florida, formerly of Jeannette and Ligonier, died Friday, April 11, 2003, in Florida. She was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Stuart and Ester Ryan Steck. She was a former employee of Jeannette Glass, and she was a member of the Jeannette and Ligonier American Legion and AMVETS. She also was an avid Steelers fan who participated in last year's summer camp at St. Vincent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Albert DelGross and Richard Brown; and son-in-law, John Elder. She is survived by her husband, Frank Ribble of Florida; two brothers, Robert Steck of Florida and Stuart Steck of Latrobe; a sister, Ruth Stouffer of Westmoreland City; six children, Suzanne Youngbauer and her husband, Ronald, of Jeannette, Bonnie Elder of Jeannette, Allen DelGross and his wife, Donna, of Jeannette, Gary DelGross and his wife, Loretta, of Orange, Va., Joseph DelGross of Jeannette and Roseanne Ometz and her husband, Joe, of Ligonier; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ella loved her family and lived her life to the fullest. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Family and friends will be received in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, P.O. Box 1552, Greensburg PA 15601, or to one's favorite charity.
