Emma J. Matrunick

Emma J. Matrunick, 82, of Bradenville, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at her residence. She was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Snydertown, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Anna (Sabota) Palko. She was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and its Rosary Christian Altar Mothers, Jednota Lodge, and was a former Girl Scout leader. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Skeets" Matrunick; four brothers, Edmund, Michael, John and William Palko; a sister, Margaret Krinock. She is survived by three sons, Richard Matrunick and his wife, Mary, and David Matrunick, all of Latrobe, and Mark Matrunick, at home; a brother, George Palko, of Greensburg; a sister, Loretta Repasky, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Richard, Kayla and Nathan Matrunick; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Rose Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Byzantine Church Cemetery. St. Rose Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
