Eugene Guy Obituary

Eugene Raymond "Gene" Guy, 77, of Southwest Greensburg, died Friday, March 22, 2002, after a long illness, in the Oak Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Manor, a son of the late Russell and Mary (Stubbs) Guy. Eugene was a veteran of World War II and a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, serving as a machine gunner in Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army, 10th AAA Division. He retired from Westinghouse after 42 years of dedicated service. Gene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay Guy; an elder son, Clark and wife, Deborah Guy, of Birdsboro; a daughter, Margie and husband, Mark Cravotta, of Greensburg; a daughter, Marsha and husband, Tim Bush, of Blairsville; a son, Jeffrey Raymond Guy of Southwest Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Kelly Guy, Jon Guy, Andy Guy, Amy Cravotta, Clay Cravotta, Tanner Bush and Tara Bush; a great-grandchild, Tayia Bush; a sister, Betty and her husband, Jack Sproat, of Manor; and three nephews, Jack, Gary and Keith Sproat. He was a member of the Manor Presbyterian Church and of the American Legion. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service with the Rev. Donna M. Havrisko officiating, and military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Private interment in St. Clair Cemetery. A special "thank you" to the staff at Oak Hill Care Center for their loving care.
