Eugene D. Nelson Sr.

Eugene Dale Nelson Sr., 89, of Connellsville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at the Scottdale Manor. Eugene was the son of the late Lawrence and Blanche Stahl Nelson. He was an Air Force veteran serving during Korean Conflict and was self-employed truck driver. He was also employed by K-mart and Peebles, Mt. Pleasant. Surviving is his life partner, Jane Zimmerman; children, Eugene Nelson Jr. and Jerry Nelson, both of Mt. Pleasant, Trent Nelson, of Florida, Kelvin Nelson (Kisa), of Scottdale, Kim Martin (Terry), of Florida, Tom Nelson (Jaydene), of Scottdale, and Bryan Nelson (Laura) and Jeff Nelson, both of Maryland; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Melissa and Laurie Means; and siblings, Helen Keslar, Dean Nelson (Mary Ann), Norma Keslar and Gary Nelson (Brenda). In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jean Nelson; children, baby, Leroy Nelson and Cheryl Nelson; grandchildren, Brittany and Dustin Martin; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores King (Francis), Sally Sirianni (Nick), Dave Keslar, Bob Keslar. Family and friends are invited to attend Eugene's memorial graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at the Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, followed by military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 446, Mt.
