Florence Baumann Obituary

Florence A. (Baker) Baumann. Formerly of East McKeesport, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Hempfield Manor. Flo was born on Dec. 14, 1929, in Pittsburg, CA, the daughter of the late William F. and Margaret (Miller) Baker. She was the loving mother of William 'Butch' (Judy Falcon) Baumann of Trafford, Forest Lee (Janet) Baumann of Murrysville, Daniel (Joanne) Baumann of Irwin, and Linda (Kenny) Louie of Glendora, CA. Flo was the grandmother of Jason (Shiree) Baacke, Bill (Brooke) Baumann, Lori (Steve) Pazzabon, Kate (Ryan) Kwiecinski, Kim (Jim) Hargreaves, Amy (Chris) Faith, Andrew Baumann and Samantha Louie. Flo was the great-grandmother of Stella Baumann, Beckett Kwiecinski, Logan Pazzabon, Sloan Kwiecinski, Jaxon Baacke, Sydney Faith, Leah Baacke, Serena Kwiecinski, Mia Pazzabaon, Bryce Faith, Penn Hargreaves, Margot Baumann, Brennen Kwiecinski, Quinn Hargreaves and Jett Baacke. Flo is also survived by her sister, Esther (Tony) Suppa; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by her sister, Ann (Danny) Mainiero; her infant sister, Margaret Jane Baker; and her brothers, William E. (Ruth) Baker and Robert L. (Betty Lou) Baker. Flo was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed watching any and all types of sports, turning down the sound on TV and listening to Bill Hillgrove, the late Myron Cope and the late Tunch Ilkin. She also enjoyed reading any book written about Pittsburgh sports legends. Flo worked countless jobs, too many to mention and, at times, worked more than one job. Her work ethic, loyalty, and devotion to family along with many other traits have been instilled in her children. Flo was fiercely dedicated to her children and her family. No matter the event or activity in which her children were involved, Flo was there. She has lovingly been called The General, The Commandant, The Czar and The Warden. But she would agree her greatest accomplishment in her 94 years, is being called mother, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. Friends are welcome from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon on Friday, July 26, at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626, or https://westmorelandfoodbank.org/.
