Frank C. Valla

1934 - 2025

Frank C. Valla, 91, of Harwick, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Barbara, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025. He was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Harwick to the late Joseph Sr. and Catherine (Lickman) Valla. Frank lived his entire life in Harwick and was a 1951 graduate of Aspinwall High School. Frank received a B.S. degree from Penn State University in 1955. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1958. He served most of his army tour in Frankfurt, Germany, and he was able to visit many European countries. Frank and his wife, Betty J. (Allan) Valla, who passed away Oct. 19, 2022, enjoyed traveling to many US states. They especially enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, NV. He also enjoyed Pittsburgh sports. Frank and Betty were married one week shy of 62 years. Frank was employed for approximately 18 years at the former Kellogg-American Plant in Oakmont. He also worked at the former Harmar Coal Mine for five years and nine years at the former Shannopin Coal Mine in Bobtown. Frank was also an officer at the Harwick Polish Club (Thaddeus Kosciuszko) for over 50 years. Frank is survived by his three daughters, Sandra Dulski of Pennsylvania, Pamela Valla (Dave Houston) of Springdale, and Barbara J. (Daniel) Tassotti of Natrona Heights. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jaclyn of Avalon and Justin Fetes of Springdale; sister-in-law, Emma Valla of Fort Myers, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Allan) Valla; and his siblings, Elizabeth Valla, Rosemary (Valla) Hetrick, and Joseph Valla.
