Frankie Norris Obituary

Frankie Norris, 80, of Ligonier, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in the Bethlen Home. She was born June 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Jesse and Luema Williamson Maynard. She was formerly employed as a cook for the Town House, Rolling Rock Club and Champion Lakes Golf Course. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, Ligonier. Prior to her illness, Frankie was an avid bowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph E. Norris Jr.; a brother, Emory Maynard; and two sisters, Betty Maynard and Mary Adkins. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph E. Norris; a daughter, Linda Peters and her husband, Robert, of Ligonier; two grandchildren, Miranda Ludwig and her husband, Russell, and Joseph Peters and his fiancee, Aimee St. Clair; a great-grandson, Caleb Ludwig; a sister, Olif West, of Moore, S.C.; three brothers, Arthur Maynard, of Pittsburgh, Crit Maynard, of Huntington, W.Va., and Percy Maynard, of Winter Park, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Benton McKee and the Rev. William Pieringer officiating. Interment will be in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Elizabeth Snyder Bloom, funeral director.
