Genevieve G. (Parks) McConville, 92, of Gilpin Township, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. A daughter of the late Charles V. Parks and Alice (Farster) Parks, she was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Mosgrove. Genevieve was a homemaker who had also worked throughout her life as a clerk at Beighley's Market, a clerk at Lucchino's Store, a clerk/secretary at the Gilpin Water Authority, and a hostess at Bonello's Restaurant. She volunteered at the Bishop Morrow Home in Gilpin Township. As a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township, she had served as a catechist for many years. Her memberships also included the Associates of Mary, the Tri-State Antique Fire Engine Association, and the Gilpin Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Genevieve enjoyed being an avid gardener, crocheting, reading, dancing, playing board games, and family beach vacations the most. She is survived by seven children, Daniel W. McConville of Gilpin Township, John C. McConville (Michelle) of Gilpin Township, Michael G. McConville (Andrea) of Sheffield Village, OH, Robert J. McConville (Marykaren) of Gilpin Township, Phillip A. McConville of Gilpin Township, Patricia M. DeBiasio (Michael) of Jeannette, and Martha M. Duncan of Allegheny Township; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Beverly E. Williams of Gilpin Township and Sandra L. Heilman of Gilpin Township; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arthur D. McConville, in 2008; a daughter-in-law, Shirley McConville; and two brothers, Charles V. Parks and James W. Parks. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at CLAWSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where Parting Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Leechburg, with Rev. Alan N. Polczynski as celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Catherine Cemetery in Gilpin Township.
