George Babilya Obituary

George R. Babilya, 20, of West Newton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 2001, in Greensburg, son of Helen Wareham and fiance, Kurt Olson, of West Newton, and Gary Babilya, of Hunker. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Flanigan; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Joann Babilya; and his beloved dog, Sassy. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed riding his bike along the trail and playing video games. In addition to his parents, George is survived by his brother, Channing Flanigan, of Herminie; nephew, Conor Flanigan; maternal grandmother, Joan Flanigan, of Herminie; aunt, Kelly Carlson, of Murrysville; uncle, John, and aunt, Marcie Flanigan, of Buena Vista; uncle, Joe Babilya, of West Newton; aunt, Janet and uncle, Sam Cook, of Yukon; uncle, David and aunt, Rebecca Babilya, of Stahlstown; special great-aunt, Cathy Cross, of Texas; numerous cousins; and his dog, Taylor Swift. George will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Private visitation was held at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Private interment was also held in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Please make memorial donations to the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, P.O.
