George Twigger Obituary

George C. "Bud" Twigger, 75, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Clare Bridge Memory Care, Export. He was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Schmeltz) Twigger. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Segeleon) Twigger; a son, George Twigger, of North Carolina; a daughter, Cheryl Torok, of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Stephen and Nathan Torok, Holly, Benjamin, Matthew and Nicole Twigger; a brother, Joseph Twigger, of Greensburg; a sister, Susie Scandalito and her husband, Fred, of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He was a retired 21-year Army veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam. Following his discharge, he had been employed for 23 years with Nuclear Conponents. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg, where he had served as an usher and was a member of the Youthful Seniors of the church. He was also a member of the VFW Post 33, the NCO association and the DAV. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green Streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg, with Monsignor Raymond E. Riffle as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard.
