Gustav Toth Obituary

Gustav J. Toth, 84, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, in Greensburg. Born in Allentown, Pa. to Frank Toth and Anna Yelencis, he served honorably in the Army from 1953 to 1956. In 1954, he married Esther (Faustner), and through their 64 years of marriage, lived throughout Europe during his military service, as well as in New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania. He worked as an accountant and comptroller for Sears Roebuck until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement, he began his second career as a volunteer within the AARP Tax Aide program, receiving numerous awards for his dedicated years of service to others in his community, reaching the level of tax aide fellow. Gus' greatest source of pride and strength was his marriage to his beloved wife, Esther, along with their children, Gary (Christine) Toth, of Cranberry Township; daughter, Donna, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; grandchildren, Lauren Cearfoss and Hannah Toth, both of Cranberry Township; and great-grandchildren, Isabella, Noah and Abigail. Gus and Esther were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Latrobe.
There are no services planned at this time at the request of the family.
