Irene Faroux Obituary

Irene O. Faroux, 91, of Greensburg, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2011, at home. She was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Paul L. and Anna M. (Croushore) Smeltzer. She was a member of Alliance Church of Jeannette and she loved to garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Faroux Sr.; a son, Harry M. Faroux Jr.; three brothers, Francis, Alvin and William Smeltzer; and three sisters, Margaret Laskoski, Alice Dlusky and Florence Person. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Rizzardi and her husband, James, of Hurst, Texas, Linda Stiles and her husband, Tim, of Greensburg, and Julia Pickett, of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul C. Smeltzer, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in COSHEY-NICHOLSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Alliance Church of Jeannette, 437 Guy St., Jeannette, with Pastor David Gilmore officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hempfield Township. MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., Jeannette, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alliance Church, 437 Guy St., Jeannette, PA 15644, or Medi Home Health Care and Hospice.
