James Dickson Obituary

James J. Dickson, 78, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 12, 1946, in Latrobe, a son of the late John and Leora Bush Dickson. Jim was a proud U.S. Army veteran who had served during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed truck driver who loved going to Vegas and being with his grandchildren and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, William D., Vaughn, Charles, Karl, and John R. Dickson, and three sisters, Marian Moore Rhodes, Betty Miller, and Ruth Dickson. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra K. Street Dickson; his son, Richard J. Dickson (Darcie) of Blairsville; his daughter, Tami L. Lewis (Nathan) of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Dillon and Travis Lewis and Alex and Andrew Dickson; his brother, Donald Dickson (Janet) of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where a service will be conducted Thursday, at 12:30 p.m. The Latrobe-Derry Honor Guard will present a service Wednesday, at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home. online condolences may be made to www.mccabefuneralhomespa.com.
