James W. Geric

James W. "Jim" Geric, 64, of Delmont, formerly of East Pittsburgh, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 2, 2008. Jim was a son of the late John W. and Mary E. (Daugherty) Geric. Jim was a retired elementary teacher/guidance counselor for the Duquesne City School District. He was a member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. He had been very active in politics and community service in both East Pittsburgh and Delmont. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his devoted wife of 14 years, Carol; and nephew, James, and his family. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, PA 15626, 724-468-1177. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 4202 Old Wm. Penn Hwy., Murrysville, PA 15668, with Father Bryan Summers as celebrant.
