Janet B. Jennings

Janet B. "Jan" (Hertzog) Jennings, 90, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. She was born Nov. 19, 1933, in North Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine (Haveronek) Hertzog. She was a past member of the First United Methodist Church, in Irwin, where she taught Sunday school classes, and was a former vice president of the Hempfield Garden Club. She worked as a secretary at Franklin Page, in Irwin, and also worked at the Davis Supermarket in Hempfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 52 years, Edward R. Jennings; daughter, Becky Jo Schram; brother, Judson and Jack Hertzog; and sister, Jo An Tromm. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Kimberly) Jennings, of Irwin; son-in-law, Tim Schram, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Dilley, Victoria Jennings, Rachel (Tyler) Gavel and Amber Jennings; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Claire; brother, Joseph (Peggie) Hertzog, of North Huntingdon; and sister, Jane Goga, of Point Blank, Texas. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone will gather at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday for a funeral service. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Township.
