Janet Klug

1933 - 2018

Janet Hallas Klug, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Greenock and Acme, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, Fla. She was born July 27, 1933, in Greenock, a daughter of the late Stanley David Hallas and Ehrda Marie Rojohn Hallas. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Greenock, where she married the love of her life, George, on March 13, 1954. After graduation from McKeesport High School in 1951, Janet utilized her dynamic clerical skills in business, retiring from Westinghouse with more than 40 years of service. Janet, a meticulous party planner, welcomed guests with warm conversation and much laughter. She was an avid skier, a member of the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi/Preceptor Gamma Eta Sorority, and enjoyed traveling, making crafts, hosting a card club, and going to the casino. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by a sister, Tamara Sim, of Ohio, in 2007; and a brother, Daryl S. Hallas, of Greenock, in 2010. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George A. Klug; her sister, Sara (Pete) Bezeck, of California; and many nieces and nephews.
In honoring the wishes of the deceased, there will be no public viewing.
