Jay Null Obituary

Jay Patrick Null, 60, of McKeesport, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born Dec. 4, 1961, in McKeesport, and was the son of the late Robert M. Null Sr. and the late Mary M. (Madden) Null. Jay was a member of SS. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township, and was also a member of the church choir. Jay was a 1979 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University and his MBA from Waynesburg University. He was a senior marketing engineer for Westinghouse. Jay was a very kind, compassionate man who cared very deeply for his family, friends and neighbors. He loved dogs and gardening and was an excellent cook and baker. He is survived by his brothers, Robert M. (Millie) Null Jr., of Mt. Vernon, Mark B. (Lyn) Null, of Penn Township, and Anthony (Michele) Null, of Plum; sister, Shelly (Mark) Henderson, of Mt. Vernon; nieces, Caitlyn and Victoria Null; nephews, Dane and Patrick Henderson; and longtime companion, Susan M. Howard. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, and from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township, 412-751-5000, Drew J. Gilbert, director. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at SS. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church. The Rev. Thomas Wagner will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer at 999 Rock Run Road, Elizabeth, PA 15037, or call 412-751-8600; or the ALS Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209, or call 412-821-3254. I am so sorry for your loss. Jay and I worked together on and off for probably 15 years. He was so talented in his work but, most importantly he was an awesome friend. He always left me with a smile on my face. A kind, helpful and wonderful person. He will be missed by all of his Westinghouse family.

so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Jay many years ago at Paragon. We did stay in contact but for while lately we did not stay in contact...I have so many happy memories of Jay and I will always remember that smile .
