Jerry W. Dean

Jerry William Dean, 56, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1965, in Kirkwood, Mo., he was a son of Gloria (Pauley) Burch and her husband, John, of Elizabeth, Pa., and the late Jerry R. Dean. Jerry had been employed at MTI Global and was previously employed at UPMC and Excela Health. He earned an associate degree from the Western School of Health and Business, Pittsburgh, and was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Jerry loved computers and technology and would not tolerate a dirty car, but most of all, he was a loving father who adored his daughters. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolores and William Pauley; and his father-in-law, George Petro. In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise Petro-Dean, of Greensburg; two daughters, Cortney E. Dean and Shelby N. Dean, both of Greensburg; two sisters, Tammie Schieber, of McKeesport, and Kimberly P. Hutchens and her husband, William, of Wilmington, N.C.; his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Petro, of Latrobe; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. There will be no public visitations.
