Jesse L. Pryor

1947 - 2023

Jesse Lee Pryor, 75, of New Kensington, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was born Aug. 28, 1947, in New Kensington, to the late Ineller Rutledge Pryor Stone and Steve Pryor. He was an honor student and graduate of New Kensington High School (Ken-Hi.) After graduating, Jesse joined the Marine Corps for four years and received an honorable discharge. Jesse enjoyed watching sports (especially the Steelers) and playing basketball. His favorite pasttime was eating great meals prepared by his mother. Survivors include his daughters, Rochelle and Jessica; his sisters, Inella Cowart, Liney (Amos) Glenn, Leysester (James) Powell and Ernestine (George) Harris; his brothers, Vernell Pryor and Arthur (Terri) Pryor; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Rufus and Richard Pryor. Viewing will be from noon until a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. The Rev. Dr. Mitchel Nickols will officiate. Military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
