John Bagley Obituary

John A. Bagley Sr., 104, formerly of Youngwood, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 14, 1903, in Scottdale, a son of the late Henry Bagley and the late Olive McClelland Bagley. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Youngwood. He was an avid photographer, taking pictures of many weddings, school events, reunions and local landmarks. Recently, he enjoyed word searches, and jigsaw and crossword puzzles. He retired from Robertshaw Controls, New Stanton. Surviving are a son, John A. "Jack" Bagley Jr. and wife, Ann, of Greensburg; two granddaughters, Donna Haines and husband, George, of Greensburg, and Cheryl Smith and husband, Bill, of South Greensburg; three great-grandchildren, Gregory Smith, Heather Haines and Adam Haines; and a niece, Judith Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence C. Nitterright Bagley; a daughter, Norma Hauger; an infant daughter, Lois Jean Bagley; two brothers, Harry Bagley and Charles Bagley; and a sister, Jean Bagley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. David S. Jack officiating. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township. Contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Redstone Highlands of Greensburg.
