Joseph Raneri

Joseph Raneri Greensburg Joseph Raneri, 85, of Greensburg, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born March 20, 1927, in Bovard, he was a son of the late Samuel and Frances Maida Raneri. Joseph served in the Navy during World War II, and was a retired foreman from General Tire. He was a member of the Fox Hill Club, Bovard Firemen's Club, Sons of Italy, Greensburg Moose Association and the Police Rod and Gun Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara DiBendict and Ange Warner; three brothers, Frank, Sam and Philip; three brothers-in-law, Louis DiBendict, Vincent Detore and Russ Hill; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Evelyn Raneri; and son-in-law, Joseph Neurohr. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Yencho Raneri, of 61 years; six children, Fran Dott and husband Jim, Mary Kay Neurohr, Joyce Casagrande and husband Rich, Rose Marie Moffa and husband David, Sandy DeFrancesco and husband Charlie, and Jennine Raneri Smith, all of Greensburg; 13 grandchildren, Tracey Gaskey and husband, Bart, and Karen Scarton and husband, Ryan, all of Latrobe, Katie Aretta and husband, Chris, of New Stanton, Kristi Rose and husband, Justin, of Palm Harbor, Fla., Joseph Neurohr Jr. and Jeffrey Neurohr, both of Greensburg, Richie, Joey and Danny Casagrande, all of Greensburg, David and Carmelina Moffa, of Greensburg, and Charlie and Gina DeFrancesco, both of Greensburg; nine great-grandchildren, Vincent and Aaron Gaskey, Anthony, Marco and Dominic Scarton, Natalie and Nathan Rose, Olivia and Tyler Aretta; a sister, Florence Detore; a sister-in-law, Lee Raneri; and his beloved dog, Corkey. Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro, OSB, as celebrant.
