Judith McDonough Obituary

Judith A. McDonough (Nemec) formerly of Irwin, PA, and Shinnston, WV, died peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Easy Living Country Estates in Hunker, PA, where she resided for the past four years. Judie was born in Greensburg, PA, on Sept. 10, 1947, to Dr. John L. and Margaret (Kolick) Nemec. She was a former longtime member of Saint Edward R.C. Church in Herminie PA and Saint Anne R.C. Church in Shinnston, WV. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Fred J. McDonough. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Jack Nemec of New Stanton, PA; and a special cousin, MaryAnn Copeman of Irwin, PA; along with 30 cousins, and their families. Judie served as one of the first female emergency technicians at the Sewickley Township Ambulance Services in Herminie, PA. After graduating from Greensburg Central Catholic High School in 1965, and Robert Morris College, she worked as a medical secretary in Greensburg and Jeannette. She next worked many years as the executive secretary to the administrator of United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. Judie taught medical transcription and terminology at an adult education center in Clarksburg. She and Her husband founded and operated JMAC Solutions, a medical transcription service for physicians in the Clarksburg area. The family wishes to offer sincere gratitude to the staff of Easy Living Country Estate for their excellent and loving care she received over the last four years at the facility she considered home. In addition,we gratefully acknowledge Bridges Hospice for the compassionate and excellent care over the last six weeks. As per Judie's request, there will be no public viewing or interment. A memorial Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Youngwood, PA. Cremation arrangements are under direction of SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 730 W. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant.
