Kathleen Myers Obituary

Kathleen Louise Myers, 54, of Greensburg, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Latrobe Area Hospital, after an eight-year battle with breast cancer. Kathleen was born July 12, 1947, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of Jacqueline L. Miller of Connellsville and the late John R. Miller. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert G. Myers of Greensburg; a son, Colin G. Gnibus and his wife, Jacqueline, and granddaughter, Ava Lauren Gnibus, all of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mrs. Colleen G. Kooser, and a brother, Jeffrey S. Miller, both of Connellsville. Kathleen graduated from Connellsville High School in 1965 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1969, where she obtained a B.S. degree in mathematics. She taught mathematics at Austintown Senior High School in Austintown, Ohio, St. Agnes School in Irwin and Armbrust Christian Academy. She was a permanent substitute teacher for six school districts in Westmoreland County. Kathleen was employed by Westmoreland County Community College from 1990 until 1998 as a curriculum and staff development coordinator and as a part-time mathematics faculty member. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Latrobe. Friends and family will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be additional viewing in Unity Chapel, Latrobe, Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. David Batchelder presiding. Everyone please meet at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Terence L. Graft, funeral director, in charge of arrangements.
