Lillian T. Figiel

1925 - 2016

Lillian T. Figiel, 91, of Collinsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016. She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Collinsburg, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Dolence) Pevc. Lillian was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of West Newton, AARP and The Second Time Around Club, where she went dancing with friends and family. She formerly worked as a waitress at Sweeney's and The Twin Coaches. Surviving are a son, Kerry Figiel and wife, Jamie; a daughter, Kathy Basista; six grandchildren, Koren Childress and husband, Nathan, Kerry Figiel Jr., Krystal Dietrich and husband, Robert, Kolleen Figiel, Jonathan Basista and Kristin Basista; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Avery and Ella Childress, and Cecilia Dietrich; a sister, Justine Zorko; a special niece, Betsy Lytle; and also other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Florian "Yunch" Figiel; a son-in-law, John Basista; a sister, Mary Hesson; and a brother, Stanley Pevc.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
