Louise Avati Obituary

Louise C. Avati, 95, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Oct. 7, 1910, in Century, W.Va., a daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Ionella) Aquilina. She was a member of the Church of St. Paul and the McKenna Center, both of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Avati; a son, Angelo James Avati; an infant son and infant daughter; a grandson, Robert Dranzik; and three sisters, Christene Benich, Mary Olinzock and Margaret Novak. She is survived by a son, Samuel C. Avati and his wife, Joanne, of Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Augustina "Auggie" Bolha and Concetta Avati, both of Greensburg; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
