Margaret Straka Obituary

Margaret D. Straka, 88, of Latrobe, formerly of Greensburg, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005. She was born March 27, 1916, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (Pullings) Donnelly. Margaret was a 1938 graduate of the former Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing, where she then practiced as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe, a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, and a member of Seton Family. Margaret loved knitting, cooking, baking and especially making candy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Straka, in 1976; her son, John H. Straka, in 1984; two brothers, James and Eugene Donnelly; and a sister, Lillian Nichols. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Margaret "Puddie" Ufolla and her husband, Fred, of Arlington, Texas, and Jane Null and her husband, Richard, with whom she made her home in Latrobe; nine grandchildren, Kristin Ufolla, Fred Ufolla Jr. and wife, Leann, Kathryn Ufolla, Robert Ufolla, Kelly Fox and husband, Jon, Greg Null, Stacey Null, Laura Straka, and Lisa Maxey and husband, Mike; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan and Annika Maxey and Riley and Anthony Ufolla. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Monday from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall St., New York, NY 10005-4001.
