Mark Clark Obituary

Mark Leroy Clark, 60, of Jeannette, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 23, 1955, in Jeannette, a son of the late Ellsworth and Grace Funk Clark. Mark was a self-employed mason, and a longtime councilman for the City of Jeannette. He was a member and president of the Jeannette Lions Club. Mark was very involved with youth sports in Jeannette and coached midget football, baseball, soccer and t-ball. He was also a member of the Jeannette Recreation Commission. Mark enjoyed traveling, sports, camping, fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, motorcycles and pinball. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Chase and Chloe, who always brightened his day. He was the heart and soul of a large family, who were blessed beyond measure to have him for many years and who will cherish his memory all of their days. Mark would do anything for anyone and always found the good in everything and everyone. He was truly the City of Jeannette's biggest fan. In addition to his parents, Mark was predeceased by brothers, Samuel and Dean; and sisters, Grace and Vickie. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda Klingensmith Clark; his sons, Matthew Clark (Krysta) and Alex Clark (Quinn), all of Jeannette; brothers, Ellsworth "Buddy" Clark Jr. (Patty), of Greensburg, and Thomas Clark (Judy), of Boston, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clyde Bittner officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.

Linda and family - I was so sorry to hear of Mark's passing and the loss to your family. I remember him growing up on the hill as such a nice mannered boy/man who had such a welcoming smile. You could not help but to smile back to him. We had some fun kick ball games. He is at peace with my brothers. It is going to be a rough road ahead. May you find comfort in the legacy and love he left behind for you and your family to always cherish. God Bless Mark and the entire family.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
