Marlene C. Hunter

Marlene Cirelli Hunter, 80, of Latrobe, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at her home. She was born July 17, 1945, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Daverso) Cirelli. Marlene was a 1963 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, served on her reunion committee, and was a founding board member of the Greensburg Salem Education Foundation. She also graduated from Imogene's Beauty Academy and Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. Prior to retirement, Marlene owned and operated Marlene's Beauty Salon for over 60 years and also worked at Helzberg Diamonds. She was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish in Latrobe and a life member of the Cercemaggiore Association. She served as the Latrobe Midget Football Assoc. cheerleader advisor and was the first recipient of the Latrobe Junior Women's Club "Woman of the Year" award. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Timothy Hunter, on April 12, 2016, and a sister, Catherine Copelli. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Stacie Hunter Leone (Vincent); two grandsons, who were her pride and joy, Vincent Michael Leone II and Dante Hunter Leone; a sister, Janet Zahorchak; a special friend, Pam Mt. Joy; a number of nieces and nephews; and her loving cats, Dougie and Frankie. Marlene's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and aides from Concordia Hospice and a special caregiver, Julie, for the compassionate care she was given during her illness. There will be no funeral home visitation. Friends and family are welcome to attend a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, in St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Frazer Purchase Road, Latrobe. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cercemaggiore Assoc., 322 Todd School Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
