Milton Kaminski Obituary

Milton S. "Kimmy" Kaminski, 89, of New Kensington, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 18, 1917, in New Kensington, a son of the late Thomas and Kamilla (Rzeczkowski) Kaminski, and had been a lifelong resident of the community. He was the circulation manager of the Pittsburgh Press for the Allegheny-Kiski Region, retiring in 1983 with 50 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Company L, 306th Infantry Regiment of the 77th Division, serving in the Pacific region, and received three Bronze Stars. Mr. Kaminski was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion, both of New Kensington, a life member of the VFW in Lower Burrell and Teamsters Local 211 in Pittsburgh. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and sports. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Thomas N. (Marcia) Kaminski, of Greensburg, and Milton S. "J.R." (Maryanne) Kaminski Jr., of Springdale; a daughter, Camille R. (Barry) Nelson, of Milton, Del.; three grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Nelson, and Kaitlin Kaminski; and two brothers, Edmund H. Kaminski, of Lower Burrell, and Thad Kaminski, of Arnold. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence A. (Simone) Kaminski; and a brother, Stanley M. Kaminski. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Richard P. Karenbauer. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, Lower Burrell. The VFW will conduct memorial services Wednesday (time later) in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials in care of the Westmoreland branches of the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
